Peace Starts With You

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Matthew 5:9

Peace isn't just when fighting stop. It's when God's love starts healing. Most people think peace means everyone gets along. They think it happens when no one argues anymore. But real peace goes much deeper than that. True peace comes when God's love flows into broken hearts and messed-up relationships.

Making peace takes guts, not hiding from problems. It means going into tough situations where others won't go. Real peacemakers don't run from fights. They help fix them. They tell the truth with love, even when it's hard. This kind of peace needs strength, not weakness.

God wants His kids to bring healing to a broken world. On October 3, 1990, East and West Germany became one country again after 45 years apart. Families split by the Berlin Wall finally came back together. This big moment showed the world what happens when walls come down and people choose to unite. Just like those walls fell, God wants to tear down walls between people through His peacemaking children.

The Greek word for peacemaker means "one who builds peace." It's not just sitting back. It's actively building and creating. You don't trip into peace by accident. You make it with careful words and purposeful actions. This job for God needs both wisdom and boldness.

Every broken friendship in your life could become a place where God builds peace. Think about the person you've been staying away from or the fight you've been ignoring. Think about the mean words you said that still hurt someone. Ask yourself if you've been breaking peace or faking peace instead of really making it. God doesn't want you to pretend problems don't exist. He wants you to help fix them. The world needs people who will step up and build bridges instead of walls.

Godseekers, peace starts with your next talk, your next choice, your next move. You've been called to carry God's heart for healing into every relationship. The blessing isn't just for people who like peace—it's for those who work to make it. When you choose to make peace, you show your Heavenly Father's heart to everyone watching.

Prayer

Dear God, thank You for calling me to be Your child by making peace. Forgive me for times I chose comfort over courage in broken relationships. Give me wisdom to know when to talk and when to listen. Fill me with Your love so I can show grace to people who hurt me. Help me see fights as chances to show Your healing power. Make me brave enough to take the first step toward making up. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Personal Reflection

  • Where in your life have you been running from conflict instead of working to fix it?
  • How can you actively build peace in one relationship this week?

Step of Faith

Today, I will reach out to someone I've had a fight with and take one real step toward making up, whether through talking, saying sorry, or showing grace.
