Someone watched you this week and drew conclusions about God. They were not reading a doctrine statement or a theology book. They were reading how you treated them when it cost you something. You may not have realized you were the only Bible they read.
No one has ever actually looked directly at God. John says something startling right in the middle of this passage. He says our love for one another makes God's presence visible. The invisible God becomes visible through something as plain and ordinary as us.
You are the only letter about God some people will ever read. Paul told the Corinthian church they were a living letter people could read. He said in 2 Corinthians 3:2 that they were known and read by everybody. Your patience and your honesty and your forgiveness are all being read too.
We carry this question more than we usually admit out loud. We wonder whether the way we love makes God easier to believe in. Every one of us has been someone else's only glimpse of Him. Some people will only ever meet God through people like us.
Because someone is always watching, how you respond truly matters. That means your patience today is not a small thing. So choose to treat the next person gently, even when it costs you. This is how we make the invisible God visible today.
Godseekers, someone in your life needs to see God today through you. You do not need perfect theology to make Him visible to them. You need patience and honesty and a love that costs you something real. Let them see Him clearly in you before the day is over.
Prayer
Lord of heaven and earth, before we ask for ourselves we ask for others. Someone near us this week is watching how we love more closely than we know. Let our patience and honesty make You easier for them to believe in. Help us love in a way that draws them closer to You instead. We trust You to be seen clearly through us today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

- What is your family, church, or community currently learning about God through you?
Step of Faith
Today, tell one specific person exactly what God has done for you this week. Do not generalize it into a vague statement about His goodness. Name the actual moment and what it revealed about who He is. Let your words become one more letter that person reads about Him.
