"'Come,' he replied, 'and you will see.' So they went and saw where he was staying, and spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon."
John 1:39 (NIV)
Come and see was never meant to end that day. Two disciples stayed with Jesus once, then something kept moving after they left. Their afternoon became a message someone else needed to hear. What started as an invitation to them became an invitation through them.
Jesus is still saying come and you will see. He said it to two uncertain disciples on their very first day with Him. He is still saying it to people who have never met Him. The invitation did not stop when the last page of John was written.
John himself wrote this same invitation again at the end. In Revelation, John hears the Spirit and the bride still saying come. That is not a coincidence for the man who once wrote about Andrew and Philip. The invitation he received as a young man became the invitation he never stopped giving.
We have been formed for five months to keep this going. Sent, Story, Compelled, and Come and See were never separate lessons standing alone. Each week simply asked us to keep saying what someone once said to us. Godseekers was never meant to be the last stop of the invitation.
Think of the last person who ever told you come and see. Someone, at some point, said three words that changed the direction of your life. You are now the someone for a person who has not heard it yet. Do not assume another week will make the invitation easier to give.
Godseekers, the invitation you received is not done moving. It reached you through someone who was willing to say three words. It is ready to reach someone else through you today. Come and see is still the whole assignment, and it always will be.
Prayer
Risen Lord, You are the same Jesus who said come and see to the very first disciples. Thank You for reaching us through someone who was willing to pass it on. Forgive us for treating the invitation as something we already finished giving. Give us the same three words Philip gave, offered freely to whoever needs them next. We trust You to meet them the way You met Nathanael and Simon. In Jesus' name, Amen.

- Who first said something like "come and see" to you, and what did it change?
- Who in our church or city is still waiting for someone to say those same three words to them?
Step of Faith
Today, speak this out loud over yourself or your household: this invitation is not finished with me. Say it even if it feels ordinary or small. Let it shape who you think to invite this week. Trust that God is still using ordinary words to reach people.
