"He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all, how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?"

By now, some of you are tired of asking. You have brought the same request more times than you can count, and it still has not changed. Somewhere in that exhaustion, a colder thought has probably crept in. Maybe God is not actually generous. Maybe He is just slow to give, or unwilling, or waiting for you to somehow earn it.
That suspicion cannot survive one fact. God already gave the most costly thing He had, and He gave it before you ever asked Him for anything else. Paul makes the argument directly: if God did that for you, withholding something smaller now would make no sense. That is not the behavior of a Father holding out on you.
"All things" in this verse is not a blank check for anything you can imagine. Paul is talking about everything necessary to keep you His, to bring you all the way home. The same generosity that gave up His own Son is not going to run out on the things that actually matter for your life with Him.
Whatever you have brought to God recently, it does not change what happened at the cross. The prayers that went unanswered, and the ones you are still waiting on, do not undo what God already gave. His generosity was proven before your current request was ever spoken.
This changes how you interpret His silence. Silence is not the same as absence. Delay is not the same as denial. The Father who did not spare His own Son is not now negotiating with you over something smaller.
Godseekers, you do not have to ask one more time to be loved. The cross already answered the only question that ever really mattered. Whatever you bring to Him now, or however long you have already been bringing it, His answer is not in question. Trust the Giver, and let Him decide the gift.
Prayer
Gracious God, thank You for the proof I did not have to create myself. You gave up Your own Son before I ever asked You for anything. Forgive me for suspecting You were holding out on me. Whatever You decide about what I am asking today, I trust Your generosity is not in question. In Jesus' name, Amen.

- Where have you quietly started to believe God is stingy, slow, or unwilling, rather than generous?
- If God already proved His generosity at the cross, what is stopping you from trusting Him with what you are still waiting on?
