What happens when your faith feels weaker than it should? Some days confidence comes easy, and other days it disappears. We start to wonder if God's patience shrinks along with ours. That question deserves an honest answer, not a quick platitude.
John names a claim many of us make without noticing. We claim to be fine, and the truth is not in us (1:8). That self-deception often masks a deeper, quieter fear. The fear that God's patience runs out before ours does.
The apostle Paul gives us the actual answer to this fear. If we are faithless, He remains faithful still (2:13). He cannot disown Himself, no matter how unsteady we feel. His faithfulness was never built on our strength.
This is the tension we live in, questioning our own faith. We measure God's patience like it were a shrinking bank account. We picture Him tallying our failures until He walks away. But that picture was never true to who He is.
Certainty was never meant to rest on your performance. It rests on a God who cannot be anything but faithful. So you may know this, even on your weakest day. Let that truth settle deeper than your daily feelings do.
Godseekers, you now hold the answer to the question. His faithfulness was never a reflection of your own. Carry that confidence into whatever this day asks of you. You do not need to earn what He already gives.
Prayer
Father of mercies, we are tired of measuring our faith against Yours. Some days we feel sure, and other days we feel like we are failing You. But Your faithfulness was never dependent on our good days. Meet us in the uncertain moments and remind us who You are. We choose to trust You even when we do not feel steady. In Jesus' name, Amen.
