Light feels like a threat when you are hiding something. Most of us learned early to guard our shadows carefully. We assume exposure means shame, so we keep the door shut. But John describes a very different kind of light entirely.

John writes in 1 John 1:5 that God is light. There is no darkness in Him, not even a trace. That is not a warning to fear or dodge. It is simply the truest thing about who He is.

The prophet Malachi paints an even warmer picture of light. In Malachi 4:2, he promises healing rides on the light's rays. Light, in his picture, does not expose to destroy. It rises to mend what has been broken for years.

We know this place, the fear of being fully seen. Every one of us has hidden something we thought was too messy. We carry old assumptions about what God does with our mess. But this letter was written so we may know something different.

Ask yourself what you have been keeping in the dark. Maybe it is smaller than you think, or far heavier. God is not waiting to catch you doing something wrong. He is waiting to meet you exactly where you are.

Godseekers, the light was never the thing to fear. What you feared would expose you is what heals you. Step into it today without bracing for shame or blame. You are walking toward mercy, not away from it.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are the light that has never once dimmed. You are not waiting to expose us, but to heal us. What Malachi promised, a healing sunrise, You are fully able to bring into our hidden places. We are not asking You to look away from what is broken. We are declaring that Your light is already healing it. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Today, set aside five quiet minutes and name one specific thing you have been hiding from God. Say it out loud in plain words, not vague generalities. Trust that His light is meeting you to heal, not to shame you. Let this be the first honest sentence of a new kind of freedom.
