Power Comes Before You Feel Ready

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you."

Acts 1:8a (NIV)

You think confidence comes before the calling starts. Most of us wait to feel sure before we speak up. We assume power is something we earn or grow into. But the moment you trusted Christ, that power already moved in.

Look closely at what actually happened when you believed. The same Spirit Jesus promised His disciples now lives in you. He did not arrive later, after enough faith or enough effort. He arrived the day you called Jesus your Savior.

Paul knew this Spirit personally, even in his weakest hour. He begged God three times to remove a thorn from his body. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, God answered with grace instead of removal. His power, God said, is made perfect in weakness, not strength.

We keep waiting for a version of ourselves that never comes. Every one of us has postponed something until we felt stronger. We have treated the Spirit like a future upgrade to earn. But He has been fully present since the day we believed.

So what are you actually waiting to feel before you obey? Name it honestly instead of letting it stay vague and safe. The Spirit is not arriving later to help you start. He is already here, and your obedience can start today.

Godseekers, the Spirit inside you arrived the day you believed. He was not added later once you felt capable enough. That is not a future hope still waiting to arrive. It is a present reality you can act on today.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are the power that entered us the day we believed. You did not leave us empty while we waited to feel ready. Your Spirit has been with us since the moment of our salvation. We are not asking You to make us feel ready. We declare that Your power is already ours today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Personal Reflection

  1. What have you been waiting to feel before you obey God?
  2. Where does your church or family need someone to move before they feel ready?

Step of Faith

Today, confess to God one specific excuse you have been hiding behind. Say it out loud, not just in your thoughts. Then thank Him that His Spirit is already in you, ready to move. Ask Him to show you one small step you can take before the day ends.
